For each of the degree units we were required to produce a "logbook". Part sketchbook, part scrapbook, part journal, it was intended to be a record of the development of our ideas; showing both other images from art and photography which had inspired us and our own work as it progressed from experimental beginnings to the final images. From the very first unit it made more sense to me to create my "logbook" in a digital form, this grew in sophistication with each of the units until I was submitting what amounted to a mini website/CD-ROM.

Species
"We are not interested in the precise reconstruction of movement, which has already been broken up and analysed. We are involved only in the area of movement which produces sensation, the memory of which still palpitates in our awareness."
Anton Giulio Bragaglia

The oak leaves project: death, decay and arranging things.

Human Impact on Species and Environment
This is the logbook for what became the "blue" project but contains a wealth of material on everything from Pygmalion to the Automobile Association

unit 302 logbook

Nature's Patterns
Why do snowflakes have six fold symmetry? What causes rainbows? Why do the numbers 5,8,13,21,34 keep recurring in nature? What is the connection between a fern frond and measuring the coast line? Why can you predict the weather with reasonable accuracy for the next day but not for the next week?
